Aix-en-Provence TGV station is not in the city itself: it sits on the Arbois plateau, roughly 15 km south-west of central Aix, out in open countryside. From Avignon it is about 70 km via the A7 then the A8 motorway, around fifty minutes. This station serves the whole PACA region and is often a better gateway than Avignon TGV for certain connections towards Marseille, Toulon or Nice. With no convenient direct public-transport link, a taxi remains the most reliable way to make your train.
