The Venice of the Comtat, its canals and its antiques market, a half-day of strolling from Avignon, at your own pace.
Just fifteen minutes from Avignon, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue lives to the rhythm of its waters: branches of the Sorgue river, moss-covered waterwheels and terraces along the canals have earned it the nickname of the Venice of the Comtat. Famous for its antique dealers and its huge Sunday flea market, one of the largest in Europe, the town is perfect for a half-day of shopping and strolling with a driver at your disposal.
Sunday is the highlight: a Provençal market in the morning and a large antiques and flea market all day. The big fairs (Easter and mid-August) are exceptional but very busy. On weekdays the town is quieter and the antique-dealer villages stay open.
A half-day is plenty to wander along the canals and browse the antique dealers. If you'd like to combine it with Fontaine-de-Vaucluse or a nearby village, we're happy to switch to a full-day format.
Yes, your driver waits on site and loads your finds, from a small object to a bulky piece of furniture, within the vehicle's capacity. Just let us know when you book.
